Bio
From the city of Goddess
Passage
Vitaliy Mirzabeyli was born in Odessa on February, 1964, the same month when Beatles arrived to the USA. Entered the musical school by the Sailors Club at the age of seven, he studied accordion on the next five years.
In 1987 he formed the student band Passage, where prog-rock and sympho-rock songs were developed in duo with gifted young man Serge Topaloff, they both shared guitar and bass parts. Brilliant drummer Vadim Dedov completed the band, which was one of its own in the city. Their way and music style were similar to another prog-rock and metal band on the other side of the Atlantic - Jason Becker and Marty Friedman group Cacophony. From early years Vitaliy drew inspiration from jazz, blues and baroque composers, like J.S. Bach, G.F. Hendel and A. Vivaldi. Hard Rock was another part of his affection, formed by the early British heavy groups, such as Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Uriah Heep, Queen, as well as American giants, like Grand Funk, ZZ Top, Styx, Blue Oyster Cult, Cactus.
The year 2005 was marked as a turn point in Vitaliy musical journey, when he joined the Bronx (New York) based band Birds on a Wire. The next year he took part at the King of the Blues contest, held by Guitar Center in Manhattan. In May, 2008 he managed to assemble new group of bandmates, they called themselves Vantage Point. A fruitful period of the next few years brought into life three albums, such as Chariot of the Gods, Fantasy in Baroque and As Hard As Rock. A pinnacle of the creative period were the years of 2011, 2012, when the band played at WNYC and WMXR Battle of the Boroughs. By that time Vitaliy put an eye on Jackson guitars, that remains his weapon of choice along with Fender Stratocaster, Charvel San-Dimas and PRS CE.
Today, the focus point is shifted to the studio work, that brings into life new albums, the most recent is American Blues. Full list of them is available online on Apple Music, Amazon Music, Spotify, Tidal.
Next projects are coming up soon, including Ghost Train and Bird of Freedom. Keep an eye open and stay in touch.
